This extraordinary, one-of-a-kind model was produced in collaboration with the French artist Bernar Venet, who helped BUGATTI to create a work of art that combines an alluring, artistic surface design with a haute couture-style interior.

BERNAR VENET

Bernar Venet, who has a passion for mathematical formulas and scientific theories, took his inspiration for the design of the GRAND SPORT from the technical formulas used to calculate the power of the BUGATTI engine, and applied them to the car’s body and interior.
The artist also intended his interpretation of the GRAND SPORT to be viewed as an homage to the ingenious technology and the expertise of German engineering. Bernar Venet’s automotive sculpture was unveiled in the Rubell Family Collection at Art Basel Miami Beach in 2012.
The bodyshell of this GRAND SPORT is decorated with a design made up of mathematical and scientific formulas that are inspired by the speed of the car. They explode outward from the front of the vehicle, extending over the wings and up the sides. The rusty color of the formulas, which can also be found in the interior, refers to a series of successful sculptural works by Venet. The BUGATTI designers created special stencils and used them to individually add the formulas to the exterior of the car. Several layers of lacquer were then added to achieve the perfect surface characteristic of a BUGATTI. In the car interior, the formulas were embroidered into the materials – an outstanding example of master craftsmanship.
L'or blanc
The BUGATTI VEYRON 16.4 GRAND SPORT L’OR BLANC is the result of an extraordinary collaboration between BUGATTI and the Royal Porcelain Factory in Berlin. It represents a new design principle for a BUGATTI automotive artwork. It was the first time that a car’s bodyshell and interior have both been fitted with high-quality porcelain elements.

This is faithful to the tradition of BUGATTI founder Ettore Bugatti, who also liked to experiment with new materials not normally used in cars. The catalyst for the collaboration was Rembrandt Bugatti’s famous elephant. Initially, the Royal Porcelain Factory planned to simply produce a porcelain figure of the elephant, then the idea of also creating a service came up – and the final result was this extraordinary, unique GRAND SPORT.
The exterior of the L’OR BLANC is a work of art in its own right and a masterpiece of craftsmanship. It took the BUGATTI design team several weeks to get the natural reflections on the bodyshell to visually “flow” over the car in a series of sweeping curves and delicate lines. These were then painted by hand using a powerful shade of blue. Finally, five layers of clear lacquer were applied to the car. Inside, 12 elements made of finest porcelain add the perfect finishing touch to this GRAND SPORT’s artistic character. As well as the signed porcelain inlays on the transmission tunnel, there is a striking porcelain inlay on the rear panel. Just like the porcelain elements on the petrol and oil filler caps, it is decorated with a relief of Rembrandt Bugatti’s famous dancing elephant.
Sang Bleu
The VEYRON 16.4 GRAND SPORT SANG BLEU was the last of the series of special BUGATTI models, made to mark the company’s centenary in 2009. “Sang Bleu” means “blue blood” and represents another interpretation of the brand’s signature color.

The SANG BLEU represents an innovative implementation of BUGATTI’s characteristic two-tone design principle. In previous models, two different surface coatings were combined. In this model, two high-quality materials – namely carbon fibre and aluminum – were used in combination for the first time.
The VEYRON SANG BLEU is one of a kind.
In this unique model, the carbon-fibre elements of the body are royal blue with visible carbon. The rear scoops are painted the same colour. Midnight blue and a diamond cut were chosen for the rims. The inside is lined with gaucho leather, which in combination with the exterior materials creates an elegant, harmonious overall impression.
Villa d'Este
September 2009, to mark the company’s centenary, BUGATTI unveiled four special models of the VEYRON 16.4 at the Villa d’Este Concorso d’Eleganza. These models recalled the prestigious racing history of the traditional brand and celebrated one of its most successful models, the TYPE 35.

Just as in Ettore Bugatti’s day, the four cars were presented in the racing colors of the countries that competed in motorsports at that time: blue for France, red for Italy, green for Britain and white for Germany. Each of the four models was modelled on a historic Grand Prix BUGATTI.
These four historic race cars achieved countless victories during the 1920s and 30s, with world-famous racing drivers at the wheel. The four special edition models are named after four racing drivers: the blue VEYRON is called “Jean-Pierre Wimille”, the red one is called “Achille Varzi”, the green one is called “Malcolm Campbell” and the white one is called “Hermann zu Leiningen”.
Special attention was paid when choosing the materials and colors to ensure that the modern cars retained the distinctive characteristics of the historic models. The colors for the four VEYRONS were mixed to be faithful to the original. The historic material concept with body elements in uncoated, polished aluminum and other parts painted in a single tone conveys the discreet, elegant spirit of the brand. The brand’s long tradition is also reflected in the interior fittings, which were matched to each car’s respective historic model. The result bridges the gap between the racing victories of the past and the brand’s successful revival in the present.
Bleu Centenaire
The VEYRON BLEU CENTENAIRE was developed to mark the centenary of the BUGATTI brand. This special model uses the traditional two-tone BUGATTI design, but interprets it using two shades of blue: “Sprint Blue Matte” and “Sprint Blue Gloss”. The result is a completely new visual perspective. Parts of the engine were also rendered in this traditional BUGATTI color.

The emblem that was created especially for this car features an abstract drawing depicting the outlines of two BUGATTI legends, the TYPE 41 ROYALE and the VEYRON 16.4. If you look more closely, you can see that the drawing also contains the inscription “0–100”. This represents the 100 years since the brand’s founding.
This car is one of a kind.
Every aspect of the VEYRON BLEU CENTENAIRE lives up to the BUGATTI brand values. Its elegant exterior, in two shades of blue, is supplemented by the roof trim stripes and wing mirrors made of polished, anodized aluminum. The grilles on the radiator and side vents are highly polished. Bright red brake callipers give a sporty touch to the rims, which were developed specially for this model. The car’s interior, lined with “Snow Beige” leather, is just as elegant. This ambience is enhanced by the centre console, which is covered in leather in the same color.
Fbg Par Hermès
The BUGATTI VEYRON FBG PAR HERMÈS is the product of a collaboration with the renowned Parisian luxury brand Hermès. The name of this highly exclusive model refers to the main Hermès store on the Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré in the eighth Arrondissement of Paris. “Fbg” stands for “Faubourg”. The BBUGATTI VEYRON FBG PAR HERMÈS represents a perfect blend of the technical and aesthetic finesse of Émile Hermès and Ettore Bugatti.

In conjunction with Hermès artisans, the designer Gabriele Pezzini refined the VEYRON with Hermès styling, allowing the personality of this gem of automotive engineering to shine even brighter than before.
This special edition of the VEYRON 16.4 was limited to four units. A VEYRON 16.4 GRAND SPORT was later produced in the same configuration.
The designers used the traditional two-tone BUGATTI bodyshell design to create visual continuity between the exterior and interior design: the color of the bonnet continues into the inside and is picked up again on the rear wing. The vents on the edge of the rims are designed in the signature style of Hermès seams. The aluminum grilles on the radiator and intercoolers are marked with the letter “H”, the Hermès brand symbol. Nearly all the interior surfaces and numerous details of the BUGATTI VEYRON FBG PAR HERMÈS, such as the door handles and seats, were designed from scratch in the Hermès workshops in Paris and exude the luxury that is characteristic of the Hermès brand.
Sang Noir
For the EB 16.4 VEYRON SANG NOIR, BUGATTI experimented with darker shades and tonalities. Vincent van Gogh once said: “It often seems to me that the night is much more alive and richly coloured than the day.” The VEYRON SANG NOIR takes this thought to heart.

The historic model for this special edition was the TYPE 57S ATLANTIC, which had the same distinctive beauty, reminiscent of a bird of prey, that has run throughout the brand’s history and now revived in the SANG NOIR. Both models forcefully demonstrate the close connection between BUGATTI’s past and present.
Only 12 units of the EB 16.4 VEYRON SANG NOIR were made.
The jet black exterior paintwork may seem subdued at first glance, but a closer look reveals visual effects, such as the saturated black visible carbon, which give this unique VEYRON its elegant, sculptural character. The visible carbon perfectly complements the black-coated sides of the body. Metal details like the chrome-plated BUGATTI radiator grille and the highly polished hubcaps combine luxury and sporting flair in impressive fashion. Inside, the full-grain leather fittings in a powerful shade of mandarin contrast with the black centre console in a piano lacquer finish – another impressive example of the harmony of extremes.
Pur Sang
The BUGATTI VEYRON is an extraordinary supercar. It was developed in line with Ettore Bugatti’s guiding principle of always creating a unique artwork. It not only set technological benchmarks, but also embodies the brand’s design DNA, as established by Ettore and his son Jean, in impressive fashion.

Every component in the car serves a specific purpose and exudes exquisite technical beauty. This inspired BUGATTI to develop a pure material configuration of the characteristic BUGATTI two-tone design – that is to say, without a paint coating. The result is the “Pur Sang” (pureblood) special edition.
The model was unveiled in 2007. There are only five units of this limited edition.
The materials used for the body, carbon and aluminum, perfectly represent the car’s technical composition and characteristics. The carbon shell surrounds the engine and car interior, encompassing all the main structural components, while the light reflecting off the gleaming aluminum paneling perfectly accentuates the sports car’s contours. Both materials convey the dual character of the car: performance and comfort, bodyshell and structure. The harmonious exterior style is also clearly visible when the car is viewed from above.
